The euro coins from Spain show three different designs, related to the Spanish history and architecture. The exchange ratio with the pre euro currency (the Spanish peseta: ESP) is

The author of the 1 cent, 2 cents and 5 cents coins is Garcilaso Rollán, who represented the façade of the Obradoiro in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.

The author of the 10 cents, 20 cents, and 50 cents coins is Begoña Castellanos, who represented the Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes.

Luis José Díaz designed the euro coins with the portrait of King Juan Carlos I.

All the coins show the EU's 12 stars, the word España, and the year of minting.
